Rain will fall heavily in Poland for the next few days. This is all due to the Genoese low. IMWM warnings of the third degree
The highest level warnings for heavy rainfall apply to the following provinces:
- Lower Silesia;
- Opole;
- Silesian;
- Lesser Poland.
The warnings will be in force there until 7:00 a.m. on Monday. The estimated rainfall total for the period from 8:00 p.m. on Thursday to 7:00 a.m. on Friday will be from 40 to 70 l/m2, from 7:00 a.m. on Friday to 7:00 a.m. on Saturday will be from 80 to 120 l/m2, from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday will be from 70 to 110 l/m2, locally up to 150 l/m2, from 7:00 a.m. on Sunday to 7:00 a.m. on Monday the rainfall total will be from 20 to 40 l/m2.
IMWM warnings of the second degree
Second degree warnings were issued for the following provinces:
- Greater Polandfor the following counties: Koło, Konin, KoninSłupca, Gniezno, Września, Środa, Śrem, Leszno, LesznoRawicz, Gostyń, Krotoszyń, Ostrów, Jarocin, Pleszew, Ostrzeszów, Kalisz, KaliszTurkish;
- Lodzfor the following counties: Kutno, Łęczyca, Poddębice, Sieradz, Zduńska Wola, Wieluń, Wieruszów.
The warnings in these regions will be valid until 6 a.m. Saturday. The estimated rainfall total for the period from 6 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday will be up to 40 l/sq m, and from 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday it will reach up to 40 l/sq m.
First degree IMWM warnings
The lowest level warnings due to heavy rainfall apply to the province Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipcounties: Grudziądz, GrudziadzBrodnica, Wąbrzeźno, Chełmno, Rypin, Golub-Dobrzyń, Toruń, ToruńLipno, Wloclawek, WloclawekRadziejów, Mogilno, Inowrocław, Aleksandrów.
The warnings will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Friday. Rainfall totals are expected to be up to 40 l/sq m.
IMWM warnings of the first degree – dense fog:
Limited visibility due to fog will occur in the following provinces:
- Podlaskie;
- Masovianin the counties of: Łosice, Siedlce, SiedlceSokołów Podlaski, Węgrów, Ostrów;
- Lublin;
- Subcarpathianin the eastern counties.
The alerts will be in effect from 11pm on Thursday to 7am on Friday. In the indicated areas, there will be dense fog, within which visibility may be less than 200m in places.
Moreover, as he warns IMWMgradual increases in water levels are forecast in the catchment areas of the Odra tributaries to the high-level zone. Significant exceedances of alarm and local warning levels are also expected.
According to IMGW, depending on the course of the meteorological situation, the largest increases in water levels may occur on September 13-14 and September 15. They will cover the Osobłoga catchment areas, Nysa Kłodzka, the upper Bóbr and Kwisa rivers and OlawaŚlęza, Bystrzyca and Kaczawa.
