The Czechs are preparing for a big flood

The Czech Ministry of the Environment has warned that the flood threat will be “extreme” in many parts of the country. It could be particularly dangerous in the Czech-Moravian Highlands and the Jeseníky Mountains.

Minister of Interior Vít Rakušan announced that the state is ready to help in eliminating the consequences of the attack. almost 100 thousand firefightersincluding volunteers. They will remain on standby throughout the weekend.

As the minister added, firefighters are currently delivering sandbags to the threatened areas and helping local authorities to organize preparations for the coming flood.

The Czech police provided a total of five helicopterswhich will be available for use in Prague, Brno and Ostrava. The Czech army is also on standby, providing engineering troops and two helicopters.
