A fire broke out in an area of ​​​​about 300 square meters in a military unit in the town of Georgiyevsk in Stavropol Krai in the European part of Russia, the Ukrainska Pravda portal reported after representatives of local Russian authorities.

The municipal government of Georgievsk claims that no one was injured and the fire was quickly brought under control. The cause of the fire was allegedly high air temperature, Ukrainian media reported.

On Wednesday morning, an explosion took place at the Zagorskie Optical-Mechanical Plant in Sergiev Posad near Moscow, where, among other things, components for the army are produced. According to state-run Russian media, at least one person was killed and more than 50 injured.

In early July, six people died in an explosion at an industrial plant in Chapayevsk in the Samara region.

Earlier, there were reports of fires and explosions, e.g. in Russia’s largest factory of gunpowder for firearms and artillery ammunition in Kotovsk near Tambov, a shopping center in Khimki near Moscow, a refinery in Angarsk in Siberia, a plant producing agricultural equipment in St. of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in Rostov-on-Don.
