Nine people were injured as a result of a Polish bus accident on a highway in Germany near Dresden, which occurred on Sunday morning, local media reported. The bus hit the back of the truck in front of it and then hit the barrier.

As reported by the German portal tag24, on Sunday morning on the A4 highway, between Nossen and Wilsdruff, near Dresden (Saxony), a Polish bus carrying nine people drove into the back of a truck in front of it, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and then fell into the barrier after the vehicle overturned and stopped in the right lane.

The police cited by tag24 reported that a total of nine people were injured, and three of them were in a serious condition. They ended up in German hospitals. The truck driver did not suffer any injuries. The police are investigating the causes of the incident.

The highway towards Dresden was closed from 4:15 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. The Polish bus was completely destroyed. The material damage resulting from this accident was estimated at approximately PLN 45,000. euro – said the police, emphasizing that the version of the driver falling asleep is being investigated.

As highlighted by the Bild daily portal, other serious accidents have already occurred on the A4 road – a key highway running through Saxony – in recent months.

Everything needs to be replaced, since 2021 the number of construction works there has been increasing, and with it the number of accidents. There are a lot of construction sites, and this condition will continue to lasted for years. The result was dangerous places and serious accidents,” emphasized “Bild”.
