Fire on Highfield Festival exploded on Saturday at around 9 p.m. Suddenly, one of the 24 gondolas of the 38-meter-high Ferris wheel burst into flames. The fire then spread to the second gondola.

The flames appeared during the passenger exchange. – My employees told me that there were no people in the gondola when the fire broke out – he told “Welt” Sebastian Hannstein, Ferris wheel operator. – My family has been operating Ferris wheels for generations. Something like this has never happened before – he assured.
Passengers were evacuated from the remaining carriages. Despite the efficient action, over 20 people were injured (the first information from the services spoke of up to 30 people). Four people were burned, and one suffered injuries as a result of a fall from a height. The remaining injured, including four policemenwas taken to hospital to be tested for smoke poisoning.

Operator Ferris wheel claims that the drive device is seven years old, which means it is relatively new.
The dangerous incident during the festival has concerned artists performing there. Rapper Ski Aggu posted on Instagram that he received information during the incident not to interrupt his performance. This was to prevent the outbreak of mass panic.
