Germany. Six injured after lightning strike

Dangerous event in German Unterensingen (in Baden-Württemberg). Six people – including children – were injured after a tree they were standing under was struck by lightning.

A storm passing near the village of Unterensingen near Reutlingen (Baden-Württemberg) left six people injured. As the portal of the “Bild” daily reported on Saturday, three of them are in a serious condition due to information from the police. Everyone suffered as a result lightning strikes into a tree.

Some managed to escape

The injured belonged to a group of cyclists. They stopped under a tree on a farm, seeking shelter from the approaching storm. It was about 2.5 kilometers to the nearest town. As the storm hit, several of them fled to a nearby barn.

As “Bild” found out, during the lightning strike there was still a small group of people under the tree – there were adults and children among them. These people suffered serious injuries and were resuscitated on the spot by witnesses of the event.

One child was transported to the clinic by rescue helicopter, while the rest of the injured were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals.
