The German daily “Tagesspiegel” reported that during the summer party of the parliamentary group of Germany’s ruling SPD party, several women were attacked by so-called rape cocktails. The SPD parliamentary group recommends that any further people affected by the attack “report it immediately to the police”.
The incidents described by “Tagesspiegel” were supposed to take place last Wednesday at an event of the parliamentary group in the Teepee tent by the Chancellery, attended by deputies, employees of the German Bundestag and constituencies. According to the parliamentary group, a total of about 1,000 people participated in it, the newspaper informs. The federal chancellor also attended the meeting Olaf Scholz (SPD) – writes the journal.
From internal chat SPDaccessed by “Tagesspiegel” is said to say that “there are currently eight victims, one case confirmed by research.”
The “Tagesspiegel” also found a letter from the managing director of the SPD group, Mathias Martin, to SPD MPs, in which it read: “At our summer party, there were obvious attacks on female colleagues with rape cocktails (German: Ko-Tropfen). It is an outrageous event that immediately we reported to the police in the Bundestag. The SPD parliamentary group recommends that any further victims “report it immediately to the police.”
What is “Ko-Tropfen”?
The term “Ko-Tropfen” colloquially covers many different substances. The most common is liquid ecstasy, or gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB). It is colorless, odorless and tasteless and can make people who eat it helpless, defenseless and may experience a loss of consciousness – explains the website of the weekly “Spiegel”.
