The German band Rammstein, in connection with the increasing allegations against frontman Till Lindemann, has taken a series of actions – it hired lawyers, PR agencies and fired the band’s assistant who “recruited young women for concerts”.

German hard rock band Rammstein has taken the first steps to address the escalating allegations against its frontman, Till Lindemann. One of the first steps was the dismissal of the Russian Aliona Makeeva. As PAP writes, referring to Tuesday’s findings of “Welt”, Makeeva “has been banned from Rammstein concerts by the management with immediate effect”. “The Russian is currently in Munich, but will soon begin her journey home to Russia” – added the portal, emphasizing that she “recruited young women for Rammstein concerts and delivered them to frontman Till Lindemann.” Makeeva as a “casting director” has been associated with the band since 2019. “People close to Rammstein point out that Makeeva has never received no money from the band,” Welt said.

“Casting” was to take place via social media, mainly Instagram, where 20-year-olds were verified based on the photos and recordings they posted – you didn’t have to be a fan of the band, just the right look and style. After going through the selection, women could indicate which concerts on the tour they wanted to attend and received free tickets. This procedure outraged the so-called old Rammstein fans who stressed on social forums that they never got such an opportunity, paying for concert tickets for years. On the current route, the price of a ticket for a concert in Munich ranges from 155 (the cheapest seats) to even 430 euros (in the sector closest to the stage).

Rammstein responds to allegations

As the portal found out, last Friday the team hired a PR agency from Berlin, which specializes in crisis communication. “When it comes to the media, Rammstein is completely inexperienced; the band has not even had its own spokesman so far,” emphasizes “Welt”.

The contract with the PR agency engaged by the team shows that an investigation of the allegations of “a well-known law firm” has already been commissioned. “However, the period of the investigation seems quite strange: the first results should be available on Friday. The results of an internal e-mail survey that the team’s management conducted among employees shortly after the first allegations made by Shelby Lynn appeared” – describes “Welt “.

The 22-year-old Irish woman was the first to accuse Rammstein in late May. Lynn was at the band’s concert in Vilnius in the Row Zero zone. The woman accused the team of giving alcohol with narcotics that acted for several hours. After regaining consciousness, she was to discover bruises of unknown origin on her body.

Allegations of sexual abuse

NDR and “Sueddeutsche Zeitung” conducted a journalistic investigation as the first editorial offices. They spoke to two young women who told how they were to be “recruited” to meet Lindemann in early 2020. Both also spoke about alleged non-consensual sex acts and alcohol and drugs behind the scenes. As “Welt” emphasized, more people came to its editorial office, and on Tuesday afternoon “verification of their testimonies was still underway” by journalists.

Intense discussion about possible investigative action against the team continues in Germany since the weekend. Federal Family Minister Lisa Paus (Greens) called on Tuesday for better protection for attendees at concerts and events organized by Rammstein. In addition, the Munich authorities were to agree with the band that during the four concerts taking place in this city on June 7, 8, 10 and 11, there would be no post-concert “behind the scenes parties”.

The band itself issued a statement on its Instagram profile, in which it stated that it takes the accusations very seriously. He also assured that it is important for the members of the group that fans feel safe during their performances, both on and off stage.

Meanwhile, according to PAP with reference to poll commissioned by “Bild”, 45 percent. The Germans want the concerts of the band Rammstein to be canceled until serious allegations against the 60-year-old singer are clarified. Only 24 percent are asked for leaving the tour unchanged.
