Forest workers found an eight-year-old girl who went missing on Sunday on the border between Germany and the Czech Republic. The parents are on their way to their daughter, who is in the hospital, writes the daily “Die Welt”. As the police said, the child’s life is not in danger. About 1,400 rescuers from two countries were involved in the search for the eight-year-old.
Eight-year-old Julia disappeared while playing in the woods during a family hike up Cerchov Mountain. The parents from Berlin traveled with their three children aged six to nine. The couple’s son, daughter and nephew were playing in the woods. At one point, the adults lost sight of three children. Frightened, they called for help. The couple’s six-year-old son and nine-year-old nephew were found on Sunday night. The eight-year-old daughter has disappeared – reported the RB24 portal. The search operation lasted from Sunday afternoon.
The girl is found
On Tuesday, the announcement was made of the finding of the girl, which was confirmed by the police headquarters of the Upper Palatinate region in Bavaria. The girl is alive, has hypothermia and was taken to hospital – said the spokesman. The Czech newspaper “Pravo” previously reported in an online edition, citing “two reliable sources”, that the girl had been found near the town of Česká Kubice, which was later confirmed by Czech police. Forest workers found the child.
Searching for an eight-year-old girl
About 1,400 rescuers from the Czech Republic and Germany searched the Bavarian-Czech border for two days and two nights. In addition, 115 tracking dogs, police helicopters and drones participated in the action.
The temperature in the region at night is close to zero degrees, and in some places even slightly below zero. Mount Cerchov is located about two kilometers from the Bavarian border town of Waldmuenchen (Cham district).
