Italian actor Gino Renni, known from the series “Rebel Angel”, died on Sunday. He passed away at the age of 78 after two months of fighting COVID-19.
Renni was hospitalized on June 7 after contracting coronavirus. After nearly two months of hospitalization at the Argentine Institute of Diagnostics and Treatment, he died Sunday, aged 78, from bilateral pneumonia caused by COVID-19.
The news was confirmed by Argentine producers Gustavo Yankelevich and Carlos Rottemberg. According to media in Buenos Aires, the actor was vaccinated with two doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.
Singer and actor career
Gino Renni was born Luigi Melieni Mollo on June 7, 1943 in Calabria, Italy. When he was three, he moved to Argentina with his father. He made his debut as a singer and songwriter on his own radio show in the 1960s. He later began working in television music shows.
In addition to voice, he also had a comedy talent, so he began to appear in series and movies. He played, among others, the figure of the gardener Ramón GarcÃa Parapuchino in the soap opera “Rebel Angel”, also known in Poland.
