GIS: two batches of Benjamissimo Happy Edition chocolate withdrawn from the market

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate announced the recall of two batches of Benjamissimo Happy Edition chocolate with turmeric, ginger and lemon. The reason is the use of a component contaminated with ethylene oxide in its production.

Ethylene oxide is harmful to health. “You should not consume the product batches specified in this announcement” – stressed GIS.


GIS: Batches of chocolate withdrawn from the market

The inspectorate announced that it was informed by the Early Warning System for Food and Feed (RASFF) about the Bulgarian company Bio Benjamin Ltd. recalling certain batches of Happy Edition Curcuma Ginger Lemon 60 g chocolate due to the use of an ingredient contaminated with ethylene oxide – powdered ginger.

Recipient of the disputed parties in Poland – entity Eko-Wital Sp. z o. o. decided to recall the batches that were placed on the market before the company was informed of the contamination.

The withdrawn product is “Benjamissimo Happy Edition Curcuma Ginger Lemon”, 60 g. The product name according to the Eko-Wital system is “HE Vegan Chocolate with Turmeric, Ginger and Lemon BIO”, 60 g. EAN code: 3800500804996.

The recalled batch numbers are 21147 and 21161, with the expiration dates of 5/27/2022 and 6/10/2022. The producer is Bio Benjamin Ltd, and the distributor is Eko – Wital Sp. zoo
