In Giżycko, an 86-year-old man abused a cat. The incident was recorded by a witness who noticed the man using a pitchfork to hold the animal down. The 86-year-old has already heard the charges.
As Staff Sergeant Iwona Chruścińska from the District Police Headquarters in Giżycko said, “the reporting person, who witnessed the incident, recorded a man using a fork to hold down a cat lying on the ground.”
– The 86-year-old explained his behavior by saying that he was nervous, claiming that “the cat was killing” his pigeons – the policewoman said.

The man was detained. After analyzing the evidence, including the recording and witness testimony, the 86-year-old was charged with animal cruelty.
– During further actions at the scene, the police did not reveal the presence of the cat. The case will be continued in order to clarify all the circumstances – the policewoman informed.
