Police officers from Gniezno received a signal from Interpol that the man's life and health were at risk. They found no one in the hostel room where he was supposed to be staying. Instead, they found drugs. Soon, the 29-year-old fell into their hands.
The incident took place at the end of July, but only now the District Police Headquarters in Gniezno informed about the action.
– It all started with a report from Interpol from Washington, which showed that a 29-year-old staying in one of the hostels in Gniezno was supposed to publish posts on Snapchat with thoughts of resignation – explains staff aspirant Anna OsiÅ„ska from the Gniezno police.
The police immediately rushed to the indicated place to save the 29-year-old's life. However, on site the situation turned out to be different.
He returned straight into the hands of the police
When they knocked on the door of the room where the man was supposed to be, no one opened the door for them. The police informed about the threat to the 29-year-old's life and asked the receptionist to open the door. It turned out that there was no man inside. There were large bags with a white, powdery substance in the room.
– After preliminary testing of the substance by technicians, it turned out to be amphetamine. The secured amount would be enough to prepare 3.5 thousand portions of drugs – explains OsiÅ„ska.
Soon, the 29-year-old tenant of the room appeared on site. The police detained the man.
The man was wanted
It turned out that he was wanted by the District Court in Przemyśl. He had to serve a 119-day prison sentence for fraud, threats and forcing another person to behave in a certain way.
– An investigation has been initiated into the case. Criminal investigators and investigators from the investigation unit, working under the supervision of the prosecutor, carried out operational and procedural activities, based on which it was possible to charge the 29-year-old with possession of a significant amount of narcotic drugs – informs OsiÅ„ska.
At the request of the prosecutor's office, the District Court in Gniezno imposed a three-month arrest on the suspect. The 29-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
