At the end of December 2022, Narodowy Bank Polski held over 7.35 million ounces of gold worth PLN 58.65 billion, according to data published by NBP.
On Friday, the NBP published data on liquid assets and liabilities. They show that at the end of December the central bank held over 7.35 million ounces of gold (the same as in previous months).
Gold at NBP – value
The value of the bullion in PLN was PLN 58.65 billion, which means an increase of PLN 350 million compared to the valuation at the end of November. In dollars, NBP gold was worth over USD 13.32 billion (increase by USD 387 million), and in euro it was worth EUR 12.5 billion (the valuation increased by EUR 18 million).
The value of the NBP’s official reserve assets at the end of December is almost USD 166.7 billion. Converted into euros, it was almost EUR 156.5 billion.

On January 5, during the conference, the head of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński, said that he would gladly increase the resources of the NBP’s gold reserves.
– Contrary to what some people said during this war, the crisis, it turned out that the rating agencies and the world take gold resources very seriously, because they are so reliable, flexible, easy to use. Respect for us and our standing, trust, are related to this – he said.
Glapiński said then that he could not inform about some activities yet, but he would announce them soon.
