The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate warns against a batch of Sichuan pepper from China. The reason is, among other things, exceeding the highest permissible levels of pesticide residues – we read in the announcement.

As we read in Monday's announcement, the Chief Sanitary Inspector was informed about the irregularities through the Early Warning System for Unsafe Food and Feed (RASFF).

This concerns the high level of mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) and exceeding the maximum permissible levels of residues of ten pesticides in one batch of dried Sichuan pepper.

The warning applies to the product: Dried Sichuan Pepper, 300 g, Golden Lion brand. The lot number of the article is 230702 and the date of minimum durability is 31/12/2026. The importer is Asian Food Group BV

“Taking into account the presence of both mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) and pesticides detected in the product, the product should be considered harmful to human health” – emphasized GIS representatives.

Therefore, they added, “the product specified in this message should not be consumed.”

As assured, the authorities of the State Sanitary Inspection are monitoring the process of withdrawing the questioned product by recipients in Poland.
