Two men, aged 21 and 18, heard charges of murdering a 45-year-old. The man’s body was found in the stairwell at night. Earlier – as it was established – all three drank alcohol together. And it was during the alcohol-drenched party that a quarrel between the men was about to take place, and it ended tragically.
The 45-year-old’s body was found in the staircase of one of the blocks of flats in Dobre Miasto (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship). The police received the report on the night of September 12-13. An investigation team was sent to the scene. Police officers worked there together with an expert and a prosecutor. The doctor confirmed the man’s death.
– After the initial inspection of the crime scene, the investigators had no doubts that the death of the 45-year-old took place with the participation of third parties, as evidenced by the superficial injuries of the deceased, or the open door leading to the apartment of the 45-year-old, which was in a general mess – informs the subcommittee. Rafał Prokopczyk from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Olsztyn.
Police: the quarrel turned into a handicraft
The officers interviewed the neighbors on the spot and initially established the circumstances of the incident.
– They found out, among other things, that the perpetrators and the injured party consumed alcohol together and that during the libation there was probably a quarrel between the revelers, which turned into handicrafts – added Prokopczyk.
Later that same day, on Monday, investigators arrested 21-year-old Łukasz B. and 18-year-old Sylwester S. One of the detained was inspected on site. We received a photo of this event on Contact24. There, we also received the first information about the murder.
They heard the charge of manslaughter and pleaded guilty
As Krzysztof Stodolny from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Olsztyn reported, the autopsy of the 45-year-old showed that the direct cause of death was “a series of internal injuries resulting from multiple blows within the body with hands and feet, resulting in internal hemorrhage”.
On Wednesday, the men were brought to the prosecutor’s office, where they were charged with the murder. Both pleaded guilty.
They are now facing imprisonment for not less than eight years, 25 years in prison or life imprisonment. Prosecutor Stodolny added that Sylwester S. had previously been punished for robbery, so he would be held liable under recidivism.
An application will be submitted to the court to apply for pre-trial detention of the men.
