Bosch will invest PLN 1.2 billion in the construction of a heat pump factory in Dobromierz (Lower Silesian Voivodeship). The German concern’s plant is to employ 500 people by 2027, the Bosch Group announced.

The heat pump factory will be built in Dobromierz in the Świdnica poviat, in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone of the WSEZ Invest-Park. Construction works are to begin in 2024, and production in the new plant is to start at the turn of 2025 and 2026. The investor announced that by 2027, 500 jobs will be created in the factory.

The factory in Dobromierz will produce outdoor and indoor heat pump units, mainly for the European market.

Bosch has been investing in its factories in Poland since 1992, it has plants in Warsaw, Wrocław, Łódź, Rzeszów and Goleniów. The factory in Dobromierz will be the ninth Bosch factory in Poland and the first one to produce heat pumps in Poland. The Bosch plants in Poland produce household appliances, components for braking systems and accessories for power tools. The concern in Poland employs over 8.5 thousand people. employees.

A letter from the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in a letter sent on the occasion of the announcement of the investment, he stressed that it will contribute to the development of the region and the effective energy transformation of the country. “It will also ensure an increase in the innovativeness of the economy,” Morawiecki wrote.

The construction of the factory in Dobromierz – as indicated by the head of government – is another investment by Bosch, which has been present in Poland for over three decades. “The company’s production plants, research and development centers, competence and service centers and finally commercial units in our country employ over 8.5 thousand people,” wrote the Prime Minister. He added that thanks to the new investment, another 500 people will find work.

The new investment is not only an opportunity for the Wałbrzych region, but also for the whole country, stressed the Prime Minister. “Heat pumps will be manufactured near Wałbrzych, being a key heating solution that accelerates the energy transformation throughout Europe. This solution is not only pro-ecological, but also pro-economic, which will undoubtedly contribute to reducing electricity bills,” wrote the Prime Minister.

He added that the program introduced by the Polish government provides for significant subsidies for households replacing older-type heating systems. “According to the assumptions adopted by the EU, heat pumps are to be an important element in the process of striving for climate neutrality and cutting off the old continent from Russian fuels,” wrote the Prime Minister.
