Marcin Gortat, despite ending his sports career in 2020, is not giving up on sports and is trying to keep fit. However, it is not just about working out at the gym or playing basketball as a hobby. Recently, he decided to take up a slightly different form of activity, but it did not end well and the ambulance had to intervene.
Gortat's dramatic account of a trip to the Orlik sports field with his friends. One suffered a serious injury
Gortat grew up in the Bałuty district of Łódź. There, he made many friends that have lasted to this day. The former basketball player boasted that on Sunday, he invited his old friends to spend time together. And in an active way. He came up with the idea of playing football on one of the local sports fields. But playing together did not end well for one of the friends, as Gortat told in a rather dramatic story on Instagram.
“The guys say: Marcin f***, I don't even run for the bus anymore because I'm afraid something will shoot… they played football 20 years ago. Holy f***… 45 minutes into the match and our brother tore his Achilles. The ambulance came for him” – Gortat described the whole situation, adding a photo of his injured friend being taken away on a stretcher by medical services. He was clearly surprised, even shocked, by the physical condition of his friends.

In connection with this, Gortat made an important appeal. “People, take care of yourselves!” – he began, and then gave some advice. “Go to the park or the gym once or twice a week and do some basic exercises for yourself and your health,” he emphasized.
In the end, he didn't leave his fans in suspense and informed them how the story of the injured man ended. “Our friend has already had surgery… He's depressed, unfortunately, but he has support from the entire group of Bałuciaczes,” the former basketball player revealed.
Gortat is extremely active on social media. He criticizes politicians, and a few days ago he commented on the fight between Tomasz Adamek and Kasjusz “Don Kasjo” Życiński. He even gave the latter a new nickname.. It was related to the very defensive attitude of “Don Kasjo” in the fight with the former world boxing champion at the Fame MMA 22 gala.
