Gorzów Wielkopolski. A suspect has been arrested in the murder of a 75-year-old woman


Police officers from Lubusz arrested a 19-year-old suspected of murdering a 75-year-old woman in mid-September last year in Brójce (Lubusz Voivodeship). The prosecutor’s office charged the man with murder, and he faces up to life in prison. Evidence is being added.

The murder took place in mid-September last year. The woman’s body was found on September 20 in her house in Brójce.

The doctor called to the scene did not rule out that the so-called third party. The police conducted an inspection under the supervision of the prosecutor. An autopsy was also ordered.

A special team was appointed

A special team was established for the investigation to explain the circumstances of the murder and identify the perpetrator. Officers of the investigation and criminal departments of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gorzów Wielkopolski carried out a number of procedural activities.

– It was established that the 75-year-old woman received many blows to the neck. We did a lot of work on the secured traces found at the crime scene – said Marcin Maludy, press spokesman for the police in Gorzów Wielkopolski.

The investigators were assisted by experts from the Forensic Laboratories of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gorzów Wielkopolski and Poznań and experts from the Department of Forensic Genetics of the Pomeranian Medical University.

Charge of murder

The 19-year-old was arrested on December 27 last year. The District Prosecutor’s Office in Gorzów Wielkopolski charged the man with murder.

By court decision, he was temporarily arrested. The police assure that the investigation is still open, i.e. evidence is still being supplemented and collected.

The 19-year-old faces life imprisonment.
