According to the new draft ordinance of the Council of Ministers, the government’s plenipotentiary for small and medium-sized enterprises is to be a secretary or undersecretary of state appointed by the prime minister. The expenses related to the activities of the Plenipotentiary will be covered from the state budget from the part at the disposal of the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The regulations are expected to enter into force during the third quarter.

It is about a draft ordinance of the Council of Ministers amending the ordinance on the establishment of the Government Plenipotentiary for Small and Medium Enterprises, which was included in the list of legislative and program works of the Council of Ministers.

“The purpose of the regulation is to establish the principles of operation and service of the Government Plenipotentiary for Small and Medium Enterprises,” reads the draft.

Government plenipotentiary for SMEs – changes

The draft provides for the introduction of a change, according to which the Plenipotentiary is the secretary of state or the undersecretary of state appointed by the Prime Minister.

Moreover, the Plenipotentiary may submit for consideration by the Council of Ministers draft government documents resulting from the scope of his activity – with the consent of the Prime Minister.

Another change concerns the substantive, organizational, legal, technical and office-related services of the Plenipotentiary is provided by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

According to the draft, the expenses related to the activities of the Plenipotentiary are covered from the state budget from the part administered by the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

The planned date of acceptance of the project by the Council of Ministers is the third quarter of 2021.
