The Grammy Awards will be presented for the 66th time. On Thursday, the American Phonographic Academy announced the list of nominees for the most prestigious music awards in the world. In the most important categories, seven singers received at least six nominations, including only one artist.
The Grammy Awards are widely considered to be the most important music awards in the world. They are awarded by members of the American National Academy of Recording Art and Technology, also known as the Phonographic Academy. The 66th Grammy Awards will take place on February 4, 2024 at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles.
They will be awarded in 94 categories. This year, the academy introduced three new new categories. These are: best performance – African music, best album – alternative jazz and best recording – pop dance.
Grammy 2024. Nominations announced
During Thursday’s event, the list of nominees in the most important categories was presented by: Arooj Aftab, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Jimmy Jam, Jon Bon Jovi, Samara Joy, Muni Long, Cheryl Pawelski, Kim Petras, Judith Sherman, St. Vincent, Jeff Tweedy, Weird Al Yankovic, TV presenters – Gayle King, Nate Burleson, Tony Dokoupil and the head of the Phonographic Academy Harvey Mason jr.
Jon Bon Jovi – as the academy announced in mid-October – will receive the MusiCares 2024 Person of the Year award in February 2024. This is a form of appreciating musicians for their philanthropic activities.
The nominees in the remaining categories were presented via previously recorded videos, which were published after the presentation of the most important categories.

Grammy 2024. Women on top
This year’s list of nominees – especially in the most important categories – is dominated by women. SZA won the most – nine. In second place – seven nominations each went to: Victoria Monét, Phoebe Bridgers and sound engineer Serban Ghenea.
Third place – six nominations each – belongs to eight artists/bands: music producer Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, Boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift.
This means that as many as seven singers received at least six nominations in the most important categories. These are SZA, Victoria Monét, Phoebe Bridgers, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift. The only singer to earn six nominations is Jon Batiste.
