In Katowice, on Saturday, the Great Badges of the Bar for Merit were awarded. It was picked up by, among others, the former first president of the Supreme Court, professor Adam Strzembosz. – The fact that a former judge or a retired judge receives an attorneys’ award is a great honor – he assessed.
The Great Badges of the Bar for Merit has been awarded since 2007 by the National Congress of the Bar at the request of the Supreme Bar Council. The President of the Polish Bar Council, Przemysław Rosati, said that the honored were “people who devoted their lives primarily to the justice system, either by being on the side of the bar and practicing the profession of an advocate, or being a judge”.
– This common denominator is what is written in the motto of the advocate, i.e. faithfulness to Poland, protection of civil rights and freedoms and assistance to the needy – he added.
The award was collected, among others, by the former first president The Supreme Court professor Adam Strzembosz. – The fact that a former judge or a retired judge receives an attorneys’ award is a great honor – he assessed. He pointed out that “there are often disputes between these people”.
He added that he was “grateful” that “in some way, those judges who tried to be independent and just in very difficult times” were awarded.
