Weinstein convicted of sexual abuse
Weinstein, now 70, was sentenced in March 2020 to 23 years in prison for extorting a sexual act against his assistant Mimi Haleya in 2006 and the rape of aspiring actress Jessica Mann in 2013.
Over 100 women, including famous actresses such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Salma Hayek and Uma Thurman, accused Weinstein of having been sexually abusive for many years.
In September 2020 Queen Elizabeth II ordered the withdrawal from him of the Order of the British Empire of the civil category, which he received in 2004 for his services to the British film industry.
