The UK Home Office is preparing to implement a digital Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system, which aims to prevent abuse of the immigration system.

Electronic Travel Authorization is a document in digital form. It was prepared for travelers from countries that are covered by visa-free travel. As the portal informs euronews.comin order to receive the document, you will need to submit an application. To complete it, you will need a valid passport, email address and credit or debit card. You will need to provide information about your trip and answer a few questions.
The ETA application can be submitted via the website or the “UK ETA App”. The Electronic Travel Authorization will be digitally linked to our passport. Cost digital document editions are 10 poundswhich is the equivalent of approximately PLN 50. The decision on issuing the ETA document will be made within three business days.

The UK Foreign Office began implementing the ETA program in November 2023. Electronic Travel Authorization was then introduced for Qatari citizens. From February 2024, the program will cover citizens of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
From 2 April 2025, citizens of European countries wishing to travel to the UK will also be required to have a digital ETA. Conclusions o Electronic Travel Authorization will be available from March.
