The long-term military engagement of Great Britain on NATO’s eastern flank remains crucial for the Polish side, said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zbigniew Rau, who met with his British counterparts in London with Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak. – It is important that we can count on our British partners – emphasized the head of the Ministry of National Defense at a joint press conference.

Rau: we confirmed our willingness to cooperate to support Ukraine

– This year’s meeting resulted in the signing of a joint declaration on strategic partnership until 2030. Although this document focuses primarily on defense and security issues, it is worth emphasizing that our partnership has a much broader meaning – said Rau.

– We confirmed the will of Polish-British cooperation to support Ukraine. The long-term military involvement of Great Britain on the eastern flank remains crucial for the Polish side FOR THIS – he said.

Błaszczak: we can count on our British partners

Minister Błaszczak, in turn, emphasized that he greatly appreciated the presence of British soldiers in Poland, both in the face of the invasion Russia to Ukraine, as well as the hybrid threat posed by Belarus on the eastern border of our country. – It is important that we can count on our British partners – emphasized the head of the Ministry of National Defence.

– Our cooperation with Great Britain strengthens the security of the entire North Atlantic Alliance. We share the same opinions regarding threats and try to find the best solutions to deter the aggressor – he added.

Cleverly: We have a bright future ahead of us

– Observing the current situation, we remember how in the 1940s Polish forces supported us in the fight for the freedom of our country – said the British Foreign Minister James Cleverly, referring to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the support of Great Britain by Polish soldiers during World War II.

As he emphasized, the alliance between Poland and Great Britain does not only concern defense issues, but also other areas, including trade, which currently exceeds £27 billion a year (about PLN 140 billion). “We have a bright future ahead of us,” said the British minister.
