The British Royal Navy said it escorted a Russian task force in waters off Britain last week. The group consisted of a missile frigate and a tanker. “The escorting of the Russian task force together with allied partners demonstrates the commitment of the Royal Navy and the NATO alliance to maintaining maritime security,” said the commander of the British unit, Ed Moss-Ward, quoted in the communiqué.

HMS Portland was sent from Plymouth Harbor to track the Russian missile frigate Admiral Kasatonov and the auxiliary oil tanker Akademik Pashin, the British Navy said in a statement released on Monday.
