Three defeats and two victories – this is the balance of Jagiellonia Białystok in the last five matches of the Ekstraklasa. The Polish champions clearly had problems reconciling the league game with the competition in the European cup qualifiers. After the last thrashing by Lech Poznań (0:5), there came a chance to rehabilitate in a match in front of the home crowd against one of the newcomers – Lechia Gdańsk.

The match started in a great way for Jagiellonia. In the 13th minute, Joao Moutinho broke away on the left wing, laid the ball out fifteen meters to Tomas Costa, who put it into the net. The action of the two Portuguese players resulted in a goal for 1:0 for the Polish champions. It was Costa's debut goal in the colors of the Białystok club.
However, three minutes later it was already 1:1! Maksym Chłań released Conrado in the penalty area, he played along the penalty area and the action was closed by Bohdan Wjunnyk. After a little over fifteen minutes the fans saw two goals and that had to be enough for them until the end of the first half.
The second half started better for the team from Gdańsk. In the 59th minute they played a short corner kick, Conrado again ran into the penalty area, passed to Anton Carenko, but he received the ball badly. Chłań intercepted it and scored a goal for 2:1! It should be noted, however, that in this situation the defenders and goalkeeper of Jagiellonia did not show off, because it was not the strongest and most precise shot.
This opened up the match even more. Jagiellonia threw themselves at their rivals, and they had opportunities in counterattacks. In the 71st minute, Adrian Siemienic's players were lucky. The ball fell to Jesus Imaz, who equalized the score. Four minutes later, the hosts were awarded a penalty! Joao Moutinho shot at goal, and the ball hit Bujar Pllana's hand. Jesus Imaz passed the ball to Mateusz Skrzypczak, who scored a goal for 3:2! Jagiellonia turned the tables in five minutes and collected three points at their own stadium.
