Greater Poland. Rescuers arrested a man who allegedly attacked a child in the swimming pool. Charges and arrest for a 31-year-old

A court in Gostyń (Greater Poland Voivodeship) temporarily arrested a 31-year-old man suspected of having attacked an eight-year-old boy. Prosecutors say the crime took place at the swimming pool and the 31-year-old was arrested by lifeguards.

The injured child participated in activities organized in the Gostyń poviat. At one point, she felt bad, so the teacher told her to go to the locker room to get a towel.

– Then the child was followed by a 31-year-old staying in the swimming pool – informs Jacek Mastalerz, head of the Gostyń district prosecutor’s office.

The prosecutor adds that the attacker allegedly tried to force the child to submit to another sexual act. However, the eight-year-old boy managed to break free and run to the teacher.

– The teacher alerted the rescuers who captured the 31-year-old. The man tried to leave the pool, the prosecutor said.

Charge and arrest for a 31-year-old

The detained man was charged with committing other sexual acts against a minor after using violence.

“He has pleaded not guilty to the allegations,” Mastalerz said.

At the request of the investigators, the Gostyń court temporarily arrested the suspect for three months. The 31-year-old faces up to 12 years in prison.

The investigation is being conducted by the Gostyń prosecutor’s office
