Although tourism is the main driving force Greek economy – which is still recovering from a decade-long crisis – some of Greece's most popular islands are suffering from too many visitors.
One of such places is Santorinian idyllic island with charming villages and paradise the beacheswhich is inhabited by only 20 thousand people. According to Prime Minister Mitsotakis, overtourism is a problem only in a few places.
– Cruise shipping has burdened Santorini and Mykonos and that is why we continue to intervene – stressed the head of the Greek government, announcing the introduction of the new fee.
