In Zielony Lasek (Warmia-Masuria Province), a boat sailing through a canal hit something underwater. It turned out to be a car. There was a body inside. Emergency services are on the scene.
It all started when the Masurian Volunteer Search and Rescue Service received a report that in the town of Zielony Lasek on the Grunwaldzki Canal, a houseboat (a large boat called a “house on the water”) was passing by and had caught on some obstacle in the water.
– When the diver from MOPR went underwater, he saw a passenger car with a body inside. It's probably a man – says Senior Sergeant Iwona ChruÅ›ciÅ„ska from the District Police Headquarters in Giżycko.
They will be pulling the car to the surface
The officers, under the supervision of the prosecutor, are determining how the car ended up in the water.
– The services are on site. Firefighters are ready to take action to pull the vehicle to the shore – says Junior Brig. Grzegorz Zubowicz from the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Giżycko.
