During an extraordinary meeting in conditions of “strict confidentiality”, the Prime Minister Denmark Mette Frederiksen informed the Danish Parliament on Thursday about what she discussed with Donald Trump during a 45-minute conversation the day before. She also gave a short comment to journalists.
– Trump has not withdrawn his threats to introduce punitive tariffs – the Prime Minister announced at a short press conference after the meeting. – The American side expressed the opinion that, unfortunately, a situation may arise in which we will cooperate less with the Americans in the economic sphere, said Mette Frederiksen.
– We don't want to have any conflicts with the Americans in the commercial sphere, but together with companies, business organizations and our European colleagues, we are preparing for all eventualities, she added.
