Greens. Three people arrested in connection with the thefts

Three Czechs and a Slovak heard a total of 14 charges of theft and hiding documents. Police found stolen items in their hotel rooms and are now looking for their owners.

The group was caught after the theft of two bicycles and a welding machine from one of the private properties in the municipality of Zielonki (Małopolskie Voivodeship). The police determined that the thieves took them from an unlocked garage.

The trail led to a hotel in the Zielonki commune. “The policemen immediately went there. On the spot, they found six people (citizens of the Czech Republic and Slovakia) occupying several hotel rooms. In these rooms and on the balcony of one of them, the policemen revealed stolen bicycles and a welding machine. It turned out that they had more thefts on their conscience, because during the search, law enforcement officers found a number of other stolen items in hotel rooms rented by foreigners, such as scooters, electric tools, a laptop, a mobile phone, watches. The thieves also hid a number of identity documents issued in the names of other people, “the statement reads.

Allegations against foreigners

Three Czech citizens aged 32, 33 and 52 and a 28-year-old Slovak citizen were detained in connection with the thefts. The 32-year-old was also found with several grams of methamphetamine and a firearm with ammunition requiring a permit.

On Friday, all four heard 14 charges, mainly regarding theft and hiding documents, for which they face up to 3 years in prison. “The 32-year-old was additionally charged with possession of drugs and firearms with ammunition without the required permit, which in turn is punishable by up to 8 years in prison. The case is under development” – according to the police.

The owners of some of the stolen items have already been found and regained their property, the rest are wanted.
