Intercity about the “clash of fans”

The carrier informed about the case on Twitter. It was written that the incident took place on a Krakow-Warsaw train. “There was probably a clash of fans of two football clubs. The train manager called the police and an ambulance. The police are investigating the case. As a result of the event, there was a 45-minute delay. We apologize for the inconvenience,” PKP Intercity informed.

The treatment of the case as a “clash of fans of two football clubs” outraged many commentators. A few-second recording appeared on social media, which proves the inadequacy of this phrase. It shows five or six masked assailants, two of whom (dressed in black) pummeling a passenger. The victim was probably a fan of Polonia Warszawa, who was returning from the game of Black Shirts with Tannery Kraków.

When asked for a comment, PKP Intercity spokesman Cezary Nowak already wrote about “attack”, not “clash”. – On the night from Saturday to Sunday, an attack took place on the Łokietek train from Krakow to Warsaw at the Grodzisk Mazowiecki station, probably involving fans of two football clubs. The train manager immediately called the police and an ambulance. Monitoring has been secured for further clarification by the police – Nowak told us.
