Police officers from Grodzisk Mazowiecki have detained a 30-year-old man. The man is suspected of stealing three bicycles. One of them was proven using surveillance. The man was supposed to be seen on it in clothes that officers later found at his home.
For several weeks, police officers from Grodzisk Mazowiecki have been conducting operational activities concerning the theft of a bicycle reported by a resident of the city. Analysis of the materials led to the identification of a suspect. Officers went to the place where he could be staying.
As they reported, at first a family member of the wanted man tried to convince them that the 30-year-old was not at home. “The officers checked all the rooms. In the attic they found the man, and in the room he occupied they found the clothes in which he was recorded on surveillance during the theft,” said Senior Warrant Officer Katarzyna Zych from the District Police Headquarters in Grodzisk Mazowiecki in a statement.
He was charged with three offences
The police suspect that this is not the only theft that the 30-year-old could have committed. “The same person may be the perpetrator of two other bicycle thefts that occurred in Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Milanówek,” Zych added. The investigative activities carried out so far have allowed the detainee to be charged with three thefts.
The officers are still investigating whether the suspect has also stolen bicycles in other parts of the country. He faces up to 5 years in prison for his actions.
