A total of 10 charges were brought against a man detained by Grodzisk police. The 37-year-old will be held responsible for, among other things, taking over his partner's car, breaking into her mother's house and stealing jewelry and power tools. The man could spend up to 10 years behind bars.
After two residents of Grodzisk County reported crimes against them committed by the partner of one of them, Grodzisk police officers began searching for the suspect.
He didn't return the borrowed car
The report stated that the man had driven away in a borrowed car and had not returned it despite being ordered to return it immediately. In addition, his partner and her mother had noticed that jewellery worth over PLN 22,000 and power tools were missing from the house.
– After thorough investigation, detectives working on the case quickly determined the current location of the 37-year-old. They immediately went to the neighboring district, where they found the wanted car in one of the parking lots. After a short observation, they stopped a man matching the suspect's description near the car. During the search, they found the car's keys and documents, as well as four fuel cards. The man also had a package of amphetamine on him – said the spokeswoman for the Grodzisk police, Staff Sergeant Katarzyna Zych.
He sold the jewelry at a pawn shop
During further investigations, the police discovered further crimes committed by the detainee. They determined that he had sold gold and silver jewelry several times in one of the pawn shops. – After visiting the point, they found items pawned by the 37-year-old, the owners of which were the reporting parties – added the policewoman.
A check of the fuel cards confirmed that the man had used them three times to refuel, breaking the security codes. – The collected materials allowed us to present him with a total of 10 criminal charges, for which he could end up behind bars for up to 10 years. The man admitted to all the acts and voluntarily submitted to the punishment for committing them – indicated Staff Sergeant Zych.
