Within a few minutes, the police received information about two drunk drivers driving the national “7” and “50” in Mazowsze. They were arrested, they had more than two times the legal limit of alcohol in their system. One was carrying two children aged two and six. His partner was also intoxicated. The drivers were detained thanks to their civic attitude, said Chief Commissioner Agnieszka Wójcik, spokeswoman for the Grójec police.

According to the spokeswoman, last Monday, at 21.24, the duty officer of the Grójec command received information that a passenger Peugeot was driving along the national road No. 7 towards Grójec, the driver of which may be intoxicated. “The applicant was following a passenger car. When the policemen in Grójec stopped the car, the 43-year-old driver had nearly 2.5 per mille in his body” – the policewoman described in the message.

A few minutes later, at On 21. 32, the headquarters received information that a drunk driver was probably driving an Opel from Góra Kalwaria towards Grójec, along the national road 50. “The reporting person was following the car all the time. The Grójec policemen made contact with him by phone and, thanks to the information they received, in Żyrów they detained a 48-year-old man for roadside inspection, who had 2.75 per mille of alcohol in his body” – said Superintendent Wójcik. She noted that “his behavior was extremely irresponsible because there were children aged 2 and 6 in the car.”

“In addition, the man’s partner, who also traveled in a passenger car, was also intoxicated, she had half a mille of alcohol in her body. The children and the vehicle were handed over to a sober person who arrived at the scene” – described the policewoman. She also reminded that the crime of driving while intoxicated is punishable by up to two years in prison, a large fine and the loss of driving privileges.
