Grójec police arrested three people involved in criminal purchases, including: apples. The company did not settle fruit invoices. 24 people were defrauded for a total amount of nearly PLN 740,000. At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Radom, two people were placed in custody by court decision, the police said.
As the spokeswoman of the District Police Headquarters in Grójec, Superintendent Agnieszka Wójcik, informed on Tuesday, on Friday the court decided to temporarily arrest two residents of the Grójec district; are men aged 29 and 35. In the case of the third detained person – a 33-year-old woman – the prosecutor applied a preventive measure in the form of police supervision, property bail and a ban on leaving the country. All three were charged with fraud committed together and in concert. According to the police, the case is under development.

Earlier, a 45-year-old resident of the Grójec commune, president of a company that traded apples and pears supplied by orchard farmers, also faced prosecutorial charges. The fruit was purchased in the following counties: Grójec, Żyrardów, Kozienice and Rawski. The company promised to pay the fruit sellers at a later date, but the money never reached them.
