The search is ongoing for a teenager who, on March 28, in the evening, fell into the Rega River in Gryfice (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) and was carried away by the river current. A drone with a thermal imaging camera was used in the operation. The activities ended at night and resumed on Friday morning.

The incident took place on March 28 before 11 p.m. at Parkowa Street in Gryfice. The teenager fell into the Rega River and was carried away by the river current. The Specialized Water and Diving Rescue Group from Koszalin was dispatched to the site and the Volunteer Water Emergency Service was notified.

Two units of the Fire Protection Unit are also working. A drone with a thermal imaging camera was used during the shore search operation. The operations ended at night and resumed on March 29 in the morning.

The West Pomeranian Volunteer Water Emergency Service wrote in the media that it was a 17-year-old boy. “Rescuers from Gryfice and Białogard took part in the night operations. Troops from WORP from Szczecinek and Czaplinek remained on standby,” we read.

The search was resumed on March 29 after 6 a.m. The man has not been found yet.
