The prosecutor’s office checks whether there was psychological and physical violence against the inmates in the Nursing Home in Gryfice (Zachodniopomorskie). This information was received by the West Pomeranian Voivode, who initiated an inspection in the center, and later referred the case to the prosecutor’s office.
According to Michał Ruczyński, the spokesman of the West Pomeranian Voivode, the voivode received information about the alleged irregularities in the operation of the Nursing Home in Gryfice in May this year. He immediately ordered an inspection in the center, which has already ended and is currently being analyzed. However, the voivode submitted a notification to the prosecutor’s office in this case.
The prosecutor’s office investigation
Alicja Macugowska-Kyszka from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin admits that such a report was received at the end of June.
– The proceedings are conducted in the case of mental and physical abuse of the residents of the Nursing Home in Gryfice by the staff of the Nursing Home – says the prosecutor.
For this, he is threatened with up to eight years in prison. Macugowska-Kyszka also emphasizes that the prosecutor’s office is investigating the case and no one – at this stage of the proceedings – has heard the charges.
Management: this is the result of a conflict
There are currently over a hundred residents in the Nursing Home in Gryfice. According to the former employees of the center, there was mental and physical abuse by some of the staff. There were supposed to be screams, profanity and jerks of the inmates, among other things.
The management of the facility claims that all allegations are false and this is the result of a conflict between the management and former employees.
