MEP Grzegorz Braun destroyed an exhibition in the Sejm dedicated to the LGBTQ+community. Politicians comment on Braun's operation and ask why the Marshal's Guard did not react.
On Wednesday, there was a debate in the Sejm on the application for a vote of trust for the prime minister's government Donald Tusk. In the meantime, MEP Grzegorz Braun appeared in the building of the lower chamber. The politician destroyed an exhibition located in the Sejm, which is devoted to the LGBTQ+community, He removed the graphics from the easel and then trampled.
“Did the Marshal's Guard see the exploits of MP Braun”?
Among the comments, there are questions why the Marshal's Guard did not react to Braun's actions. “As a former Speaker of the Sejm, I do not understand why the Marshal's Guard did not stop MP Braun again in the act of destroying private property,” wrote the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski.
MEP Bartosz Arłukowicz also asked about the same issue. “Did the Marshal's Guard see the exploits of MP Braun in the Sejm? They reacted to this violation of the law in broad daylight and in a fully intended manner? Mr. Marshal?” – he wrote, turning to Szymon Hołownia.
The Left MEP Krzysztof Śmieska was also tempted to have a sharp comment. “Where is the Marshal's Guard stopping this ram?” he asked.
The incident also commented on the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk. “In the Sejm, a debate on a vote of confidence for the government is underway (…). What is the extreme right at this time? Demolves an exhibition, where people from the LGBTQ+ community share their stories, experiences, everyday life and hope. Hope for a better tomorrow. Such tomorrow will not guarantee the right. Nobody. Disgus. Drash!” – she wrote.
Minister of Equality Katarzyna Kotula She assessed that “MP Braun should be banned from entering the Sejm. It's time to say a definite degree to native terrorists.”
Anna Maria Żukowska, who was the initiator of the appearance of this exhibition in the Sejm, also took the floor. “Braun wants us to be afraid. But we will not be afraid. We will be even more determined to fight for our rights. We will not give up and we will not be germinated” – she emphasized.
Adrian Zandberg, in turn, asks: “What else does this man have to do so that the state begins to react adequately?”
