Grzegorz Braun, a member of the Confederation, wants to correct his property declarations for 2020 and 2021. He addressed the Marshal of the Sejm on this matter. On Thursday, the director of the Sejm Information Center, Andrzej Grzegrzółka, announced that Braun’s letter was “an extralegal attempt to replace previously submitted documents with new ones with a retrospective date.”
On Wednesday, “Rzeczpospolita” wrote that Grzegorz Braun frequently does not enter part of the income in his property declarations. According to Rzeczpospolita’s statements, the MP has no real estate, no cars, but only a few thousand savings and earns around PLN 100,000 every year from copyrights, contracts and royalties, as well as from advertising on YouTube. He shows neither the diet nor the salary.
On the same day, Member of the Confederation asked Elżbieta Witek, the Marshal of the Sejm to correct the asset declarations submitted by him in the years 2020-2021. “If I did make a mistake (…) please consider it an obvious mistake, not dictated by any harmful calculation” – he wrote.
Braun’s writing “is completely against the law”
Director of the Sejm Information Center, Andrzej Grzegrzółka, told the Polish Press Agency that Braun’s letter regarding the correction of asset declarations on Wednesday was sent to the Sejm Chancellery and is “a document completely contrary to the applicable regulations”.
– The correction of the asset declarations presented by the said deputy is a de facto non-legal attempt to replace the previously submitted documents with new ones with a retrospective date – explained Grzegrzółka.
As he added, “it can be unequivocally stated that the documents of asset declarations submitted yesterday, dated May 28, 2020 and April 26, 2021, are incorrect. The corrections should bear the date of its implementation and not the date of the corrected declaration. document and replace it with another – emphasized the director of the CIS.
