Up to five years in prison threatens two teenagers – aged 17 and 18 – for destroying an ambulance service in Chojnice. Their 16-year-old colleague pleaded guilty with them, but his case will go to the Family Court. The losses were estimated at almost PLN 40,000.
– Last Saturday, around 10 pm, the policemen from Chojnice received a report about a damaged roof in an ambulance – says junior aspirant Justyna Przytarska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Chojnice. The situation took place in Gutowiec near Czersk, where medics assisted a patient in a nearby building.
According to the policewoman, everything indicated that the vandals were simply jumping on the roof of the ambulance. The losses were estimated at almost PLN 40,000.
– The case was immediately investigated by criminals from the Czersk police station. Officers checked the obtained information, talked with people who might have knowledge about this event – reports Przytarska.
The information also found its way to the local media. Then three teenagers: 16-, 17- and 18-year-olds, residents of the Czersk and Chojnice municipalities reported to the police. They confessed to jumping on the ambulance vehicle.
The 16-year-old as a minor perpetrator of the criminal act will be held in a family court. However, his older colleagues may be sent to prison for five years for the crime of property damage.
