Star of Scottish drama Take The Excessive Highway Gwyneth Guthrie has died on the age of 84.

Guthrie is understood for taking part in Mrs Mack within the lengthy operating cleaning soap, and handed away on Tuesday, her household introduced.

Take The Excessive Highway ran for 23 years from 1980 on Scottish Tv, with episodes uploaded to the STV Participant final 12 months.

Bobby Hain, managing director of broadcast at STV, paid tribute to the actress, saying: “We at STV are so saddened to listen to the information about Gwyneth Guthrie.

“For 20 years, Gwyneth performed the long-lasting character of Mrs Mack in Take The Excessive Highway, bringing her personal great comedian timing and dramatic aptitude which made her beloved throughout the UK.

“Our ideas and sympathies are along with her household at this unhappy time.”
