On Friday, the Border Guard transported several children and teenagers, along with adults, to the hospital in Hajnówka (Podlasie). According to the spokesman for the facility, it is a family. After the tests, they were taken by the guards, it is unknown where.

The Border Guard brought a group of six children and teenagers together with adults to the hospital in Hajnówka at around 6 p.m. on Friday. Earlier, the officers gave them packed lunch. Doctors cannot inform about the health of these people, but they have already left the hospital and have been transported by the Border Guard to another location.

– There are several ways in which patients can find us. One way, the most dramatic, is that people who find migrants in need of help call a medical rescue team and then the ambulance brings them to us – says Tomasz Musiuk, Deputy Director of Treatment at the hospital in Hajnówka.

He adds that people who require a medical examination are also brought by border guards in their cars.

– The third way is from the detention centers, when the border guard brings people detained because they suspect a threat to their health or life. Then they come to us – adds Musiuk.

The hospital in Hajnówka is about a dozen kilometers in a straight line from the border with Belarus, which is why migrants who need help often end up there. Currently, there are about 10 people in the facility who have been transported from the border.

As doctors say, their biggest problem is with translators, they cannot know the history of the disease to know how to help patients. Migrants come here mainly due to hypothermia, dehydration, malnutrition or with minor wounds and abrasions on the skin.

SG: almost 600 attempts to cross the border illegally on Friday

The remaining attempts were prevented” – we read in the post.

On Friday, Border Guard officers detained 10 people for aiding in the illegal border crossing – two citizens of Turkey, two Romanians, two citizens of Germany, a citizen of Georgia, Bulgaria, Tunisia and Moldova. Since the beginning of the year, the Border Guard has prevented over 18,000 attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border, of which over 7,000 took place in October. From September 2, due to migratory pressure in the border zone with Belarus – in 183 localities in the voivodeship Podlasie and Lublin regions – a state of emergency is in force. It was introduced for 30 days under the ordinance of President Andrzej Duda, issued at the request of the Council of Ministers. The Seym agreed to extend the state of emergency for another 60 days.
