The headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels, the Empire State Building, the Brandenburg Gate, but also the Palace of Culture in Warsaw, the Sanctuary at Jasna Góra and Spodek in Katowice were illuminated on Sunday evening as a gesture of solidarity with Israel attacked by Hamas.
“We remain with Israel,” said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Platform X. She attached a photo of the EC headquarters in Brussels, illuminated in the colors of the Israeli flag, to this short entry.
The most famous skyscraper in the world, the Empire State Building on Wall Street in New York, was also illuminated with the colors of the Israeli flag.
“Solidarity with Israel,” wrote the German Chancellor on Platform X Olaf Scholzadding a photo of the illuminated Brandenburg Gate.
The Israeli flag was also displayed at the headquarters in Rome.

Solidarity with Israel in Poland
“No to violence! No to attacking defenseless citizens of Israeli cities” – wrote the mayor of Warsaw on the X platform Rafał Trzaskowski. He attached a photo of the Palace of Culture, illuminated with the colors of the Israeli flag. “Today, like other European cities, we demonstrate our solidarity with the citizens of Israel – we illuminate @PalacKultury with white and blue colors,” added Trzaskowski.
Katowice’s architectural icon, the Spodek entertainment and sports hall, was also illuminated blue on Sunday evening as a gesture of solidarity with Israel attacked by Hamas.
“Thousands of rockets have been falling on Israel for several dozen hours, bringing death and destruction. We strongly condemn this brutal and cruel act of aggression. All over the world – as a gesture of solidarity with Israel – famous objects and buildings are illuminated. Also in Katowice, our Spodek will light up blue.” – informed the mayor of Katowice, Marcin Krupa, on the social networking site.
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Częstochowa at Jasna Góra was also illuminated with the colors of the Israeli flag – informed the Center for Catholic-Jewish Relations. Abraham J. Heschel. “Let the fighting stop,” it wrote.
Hamas attacked Israel
The Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas attacked Israel on Saturday. According to the latest reports, over a thousand people died in the fighting on the Israeli and Palestinian sides.
The Israeli military announced on the night from Sunday to Monday that it was continuing to carry out airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in order to “destroy the capabilities of the Hamas terrorist group,” the Times of Israel reported.
Targets hit in recent hours included several command posts, a building where Hamas operatives lived, and a command center used by a senior Hamas naval official.
