On Saturday, President Joe Biden held separate telephone conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas, Reuters reported, citing the press services of Netanyahu and Abbas.
The Israeli prime minister thanked the US president for his support and said that “unity and determination” are necessary to achieve Israel’s military goals in the fight against the terrorist Hamas that rules the Gaza Strip, Netanyahu’s office said.
Abbas rejects ‘displacement of Palestinians from Gaza’
Abbas told Biden that he completely rejects “the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip” due to the expected ground operation of Israeli troops in response to the bloody attack by Hamas on the territory of the Jewish state on October 7.
