There are still over 25 Polish citizens in the Gaza Strip, said the head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, during a conference organized in Tel Aviv. One of the Poles is among the hostages

The head of the National Security Bureau paid a visit to Tel Aviv on Saturday. At a briefing for journalists, he announced that there are still “over 25 Polish citizens” in the Gaza Strip.

– We have reasonable grounds to expect that in the coming hours and days, some (of these – ed.) citizens will leave the Gaza Strip. Today a large group was located just at the crossing in Rafah. Consular employees were already allowed into the passport control facilities and made eye contact with them – said Jacek Siewiera.

He added that the evacuation of Poles would take place “maybe tomorrow.” – Diplomatic activities, carried out both by the diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by services remaining in the shadow, are continued in all possible directions – he said. Their evacuation requires arrangements with many parties, including: IsraelEgypt, Qatar and Hamas.

Decision to use the Polish contingent

On Friday, the president’s decision was published in “Monitor Polski”. Andrzej Duda on the use of the Polish Military Contingent in Egypt in evacuation activities of Polish citizens staying in the Gaza Strip.

On the same day, 31 Polish citizens were to be evacuated from the Gaza Strip to Egypt. Their names were to be on the list of people authorized to evacuate through the Rafah border crossing.
