Staff aspirant Mariusz Łojek from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Żory has died. “He died during a mountain expedition to the peak of Kilimanjaro. He was a valuable, passionate man,” we read on the website of the Żory police.
Staff aspirant Mariusz Łojek worked in the team for service organization and crisis management at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Żory.
“In the past, he served as the commander of a rapid reaction group, often risking his life during particularly dangerous tasks. He took part in a mission in Kosovo, and on a daily basis, as an instructor of police tactics and techniques, he was involved in training, preparing policemen to undertake difficult and dangerous tasks, while passing on his experience to younger colleagues,” says the Żory police.

The policeman died on January 6 “while climbing Kilimanjaro, while climbing the highest mountain in Africa,” we read on the website of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Żory.
“He was very smiling and kind, full of zest for life, which he infected everyone around him. He did his job every day with great dedication, always ready to help anyone in need. He fully devoted himself to serving in the Police for over 25 years. He loved life, and his great his passion was sports, martial arts and traveling,” we read.
A collection was made available on the police website to bring back the body of the deceased policeman. The text reads that “due to problems with receiving insurance compensation, the family needs help in the form of money to bring the body of the policeman from Tanzania to Poland and to meet their most important needs.”
