A 45-year-old from Krośnice will be held responsible for killing three kittens with particular cruelty. According to police findings, he drowned them and then flushed them down the toilet. The case came to light because the sewage system was blocked.
In Krośnice (Lower Silesia Province), a resident of a multi-family house found three dead cats in the basement, specifically in the inspection elbow. The woman looked into the installation because it was necessary to unclog a blocked sewage riser. She immediately reported the matter to the police from Milicz.
– They determined that one of the residents of the tenement house had a cat that had probably had kittens a few days earlier. The police reached this person and obtained confirmation of this information. The man explained that a few days after the kittens had been born, while he was at work, three small cats went missing somewhere – informed Deputy Inspector Sławomir Waleński from the District Police Headquarters in Milicz.
He didn't want any more cats, so he got rid of the animals.
According to the police, the man's 45-year-old brother was responsible for killing the animals. It was determined that he wanted to get rid of the cats from the house, so he drowned them in a bucket, then threw the dead cats into the toilet and flushed them.
– A veterinarian was called to the scene and secured the bodies of the drowned kittens. A representative of a center caring for harmed animals was also present at the scene and agreed to take care of the cat belonging to the brother of the man suspected of committing the crime – Waleński said.
The suspect in the killing of the cats was under the influence of alcohol, which is why he could not be questioned immediately. The 45-year-old man has been charged with killing three cats that were a few days old with particular cruelty. He faces up to five years in prison for that.
