A driver suspected of causing a fatal accident near Mińsk Mazowiecki was arrested. The prosecutor's office reports that he had almost 2.5 per mil of alcohol in the breath. He got behind the wheel despite the lifetime prohibition of the court for driving in a state of intoxication. His car rolled up on a municipal road. The passenger traveling with him did not survive.

We informed about the accident in Wólka Kobylańska on Monday, May 12. The fire brigade reported to our editorial office that a passenger car pulled off the municipal road to the side of the road and roofed. Two people traveled by car. The passenger did not survive, the driver was hospitalized.

The investigation into the accident was initiated by the District Prosecutor's Office in Mińsk Mazowiecki.

“The findings of the investigation show that the driver of a passenger car BMW brands Jacek R. intentionally violated the rules of safety in land traffic in such a way that he was driving a motor vehicle in a state of intoxication, he did not adapt the speed to the conditions on the road, as a result of which he lost control of the vehicle, pulled off the road to the right side, and then hit the tree, as a result of which the passenger of the vehicle Robert Sz. He suffered injuries resulting in his death at the scene of the incident ” – informs prosecutor Krystyna Gołąbek, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Siedlce.

As she noted, studies have shown that the driver had 1.20 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air, which is converted into about 2.5 per mil.

Investigators found that Jacek R. has been punished many times in the past for driving motor vehicles in a state of intoxication. In addition, he had a lifetime ban on driving all motor vehicles imposed by a judgment of the District Court in Węgrów.

A spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office said that the driver was charged with “causing a traffic accident with a fatal effect by the perpetrator who drove the vehicle in a state of intoxication.

In addition, the man will also answer for Driving a car under the influence of alcohol, as a driver previously convicted, legally for a similar crime and committing this act again during the period of legal prohibition.

The District Court in Mińsk Mazowiecki, at the request of the prosecutor's office, applied a preventive measure to Jacek R. in the form of a three -month temporary detention center.

The man is punishable by five to 20 years in prison.
